Metaphors,

a poem by Brittani
Slowly life starts to seep
back in
My eyes are pools reflecting the sun
Can you see
Can you feel
Can you touch
Can you breathe
All I have left are these metaphors
I cannot see
Cannot feel
Cannot touch
Cannot breathe
Slowly life starts to creep back in
My eyes are pools reflecting the sun
Can you taste
Can you listen
Can you feel
Mirrors glisten
Slowly life starts to bleed back in
My eyes are pools reflecting the sun
I cannot taste
Cannot hear
Cannot desire
Illusions fail
All I have left are these metaphors
All I have left are these metaphors
Soft tissue decays where eyes should have
been
Blotting out the absurd and pitiless sun
I was long gone before it began
Should I care?
Who would listen
Flowers hope
Pathetic ambition
Nature nurture
Towers crumble
Theory versus Theory
Ever so humble
Wars fought
Lovers hanged
How much is lost?
How much is gained?
Indifference...
All I have left are these metaphors
I care for you
I know you listen
An orchid crushed
None left to envision
Nature is cruel
Fuck this Babel
Evolution
Rise to meet my dagger
Battles lost
Hatred burning
The only cost
The pain of knowing
Indifference...
Slowly life slips away again
I have nothing left for you anymore.
Thank the abcess of god for oblivion...
Immortality to be left at the door
All I have left are these metaphors
All I have left are these metaphors.
